The SMU Mustangs will compete in Corpus Christi this Friday for their 2024 season opener — the first as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said the Opener at the Seashore will serve as a soft opener for the team.

"Intentions are to run as a group and focus on working together through the entire race," Haynes said.

This race will be unique in that the entire 2k loop will be run fully on the beach. The women will be run two loops for the 4k race.

The Mustangs are ranked fourth in the South Central Region USTFCCCA preseason rankings headed into this weekend's meet at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. 

The women's race will begin at 8 am.
