DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- The distance ponies are back in action Friday morning at the Texas A&M Invitational. Coming off their season opener win, SMU has their sights set on another goal this weekend. 

"Our goal is to place our top five women in the top 25," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. 

The team will face athletes from Baylor, Blinn College, Houston, Louisiana, North Texas, Oklahoma, Sam Houston, St. Edward's, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Commerce, Tarleton State, TCU, Tulane, UT-Arlington, and UT-Tyler. 

The women's 5k race will take place at 8:45 a.m.
