The 22nd-ranked SMU men's swimming & diving team is set to face off against Pitt and Utah on Friday evening and Saturday morning at Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center.

Twelve Mustangs seniors will be honored prior to Saturday's session with the festivities beginning at 10:35 a.m.

The meet also is the final dual meet of the season for SMU and will be scored as a double dual.

SITZ AND INFO
Freshman diver Luke Sitz has already earned five ACC Diver of the Week honors on five tries and has earned podium finishes during each of his meets this season. In addition, he has also reached the NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks in each competition this year. In October, he won his third consecutive ACC Diver of the Week honor, making him the second diver to ever win three straight since its inception in 2012 and the first freshman to ever accomplish the feat.

Sitz's accomplishments are not limited to SMU, as he also competed at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships on behalf of the United States during the week of Thanksgiving. The Prosper native posted three top-six finishes, including placing fifth on both 3-meter and 3-meter synchronized. His collegiate success was foreshadowed last summer when he recorded two top-four finishes at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials, the highest finisher below the age of 20 on both 3-meter and 3-meter synchronized.

MUSTANGS REACHING NCAA STANDARDS
Eighteen different Mustangs have reached NCAA qualifying standards in at least one event. This was highlighted on night one of the SMU Invite, with the 800 Free Relay team of Jack Hoagland, Jack Forrest, Chris Mykkanen and Harold Lockhart reaching SMU's lone A Cut of the season. This mark qualified all four for the NCAA Championships in events they reached an NCAA Standard in, securing the Mustangs spots in multiple individual events: 100 Free (Lockhart), 200 Free (Mykkanen, Lockhart), 500 Free (Hoagland, Forrest, Lockhart), 1650 Free (Forrest), 400 IM (Hoagland).

IN THE POLLS
SMU currently is receiving votes in the CSCAA Top 25 after being as high as 19 this season. The Mustangs also sit at 22 in the SwimSwam Power Rankings.
