The 22nd-ranked SMU men's swimming & diving team is set to hit the road for its first full-team meet of 2025 when it faces consensus number one Texas on Friday at Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.

This marks the sixth consecutive season that the two programs have met in the dual season, and it is the second road dual of the Mustangs' season.

IN THE POLLS
SMU currently is ranked 25th in the CSCAA Top 25 after being as high as 19 this season. The Mustangs also sit at 22 in the SwimSwam Power Rankings, marking the first time the team has been ranked in both polls at the same time this year.

RETURNING TO THE HILLTOP
SMU returns three All-American swimmers from last season. Graduate student Jack Hoagland picked up All-America honors in the 500 free, 1650 free, 400 Â IM and 800 free relay last season. Joining him on the 800 free relay was graduate student Chris Mykkanen and junior Jack Forrest.

SITZ AND INFO
Freshman diver Luke Sitz has already earned four ACC Diver of the Week honors on four tries and has earned podium finishes during each of his meets this season. In addition, he has also reached the NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks in each competition this year. In October, he won his third consecutive ACC Diver of the Week honor, making him the second diver to ever win three straight since its inception in 2012 and the first freshman to ever accomplish the feat. Sitz's accomplishments is not limited to SMU, as he also competed at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships on behalf of the United States during the week of Thanksgiving. The Prosper native posted three top-six finishes, including placing fifth on both 3-meter and 3-meter synchronized. His collegiate success was foreshadowed last summer when he recorded two top-four finishes at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials, the highest finisher below the age of 20 on both 3-meter and 3-meter synchronized.

MUSTANGS REACHING NCAA STANDARDS
18 different Mustangs have reached NCAA qualifying standards in at least one event. This was highlighted on night one of the SMU Invite, with the 800 Free Relay team of Jack Hoagland, Jack Forrest, Chris Mykkanen and Harold Lockhart reaching SMU's lone A Cut of the season. This mark qualified all four for the NCAA Championships in events they reached an NCAA Standard in. The mark secures the Mustangs spots in multiple individual events: 100 Free (Lockhart), 200 Free (Mykkanen, Lockhart), 500 Free (Hoagland, Forrest, Lockhart), 1650 Free (Forrest), 400 IM (Hoagland).
