DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- The Mustangs are headed to Louisville for their second Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Cross Country Championship since joining the conference last year. The meet will take place on Friday with the women's race beginning at 8:40 a.m. (CT).
"We've trained hard and are ready to build on last season," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. "The conference is stacked, but our women have been consistent and hungry. Every individual goal ties back to our team success. Excited for our upper-class leaders and our young group to shine!"
The team has performed to high standards throughout the regular season and will face numerous nationally ranked opponents within the conference championship race. Five true freshmen join the veteran Mustangs as part of the squad this year for SMU, including Rose Mburu who has consistently led the team in regular season meets and earned several SMU Student Athlete-of-the-Week awards this season.
"I am super excited for the ACCs this week and look forward to racing with these girls to achieve and improve last year's team placing," Senior Macey Hilton said.
The meet is free to attend with parking being $10 to park in the main lot at the facility. The race will be streamed on the ACC Network starting at 8 a.m. (CT) with live results following along at FlashResults.com.
