Parker Breaks School Record On Day Three Of SMU Invite

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Women's Swimming & Diving won two out of six events and saw a new school record on day three of the SMU Invite at Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center on Friday.
 
Maddy Parker highlighted the third day by breaking the school's 10-year-old 50 free record in the prelims (22.10). She matched her time in the final to place runner-up.
 
Jimena Leal won the 100 back and SMU's 400 medley relay team closed the evening with a victory.

Mustangs are third in the team competition with 449 points and a total of three event wins.

Friday's Notable Results
100 Back
Jimena Leal won the first event of the evening by throwing down 53.40 in the 100 back. Summer Osborne placed sixth overall with a time of 54.95.
 
Maddie Reynolds touched first in the C final (17 overall) by clocking 55.62.

200 Breast
Isabella Krantzcke won the B final to place ninth overall in the 200 breast (2:13.27).
 
Carlotta Scarpitti swam a time of 2:25.08 to place 19th overall.
 
500 Free
Karly Boles placed runner-up in the 500 free with a time of 4:49.11, while Madeleine Hebert placed fourth by clocking 4:53.21.
 
Annemarie Vlaic finished third in the B final (11th overall) by touching the wall at 4:57.77.
 
1-meter Diving
Macey Oppliger placed 11th on 1-meter to score 248.90, Sadie Klepfer took the no. 17 spot by scoring 247.00 and Ava Andersen placed 18th (217.00).
 
50 Free
Maddy Parker placed runner-up in the 50 free, matching her school record that she set in prelims with a time of 22.10. Summer Osborne was tied for fifth by throwing down 22.90 and Chloe Corbin was tied for seventh by clocking 23.03.
 
Cassidy Allison placed 22nd overall by swimming a time of 23.82, Maddie Reynolds placed 26th (23.97) and Isabella Krantzcke finished 28th (24.12).
 
400 Medley Relay
SMU's quartet of Jimena Leal, Isabella Krantzcke, Annemarie Vlaic and Maddy Parker won the final event of the evening with a time of 3:35.33 in the 400 medley relay.
 
Summer Osborne, Chloe Corbin, Cassidy Allison and Maddie Reynolds placed seventh by clocking 3:44.81.
 
What's Next?
The Mustangs will resume the SMU Invite on day four with prelims starting at 10 am CT and finals at 2:55 pm CT on Saturday.
