DALLAS (SMU) — SMU Men's Tennis Head Coach
Grant Chen announces the team's spring 2026 schedule, featuring seven home ACC matches at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex.
The Mustangs will begin their spring campaign with a doubleheader when they host Mississippi State and Lamar on Jan. 10.
"We are looking forward to a very exciting spring schedule. We have an incredible home lineup with non-conference matches against TCU, Wisconsin and Mississippi State coming in January," said Chen.
In non-conference play, the Mustangs are set to host 2024 national champions TCU on Jan. 31 and the ITA Team Indoor Championship on Feb. 13-17. Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex will host the nation's top teams in the five-day tournament.
"We are proud to host the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in February before kicking off the ACC conference schedule. We have lots of momentum after the productive fall campaign and are eager to build off Mustang momentum around campus," said Chen.
SMU's second ACC campaign will begin on the road at Virginia Tech on Feb. 27. The ACC schedule will feature Duke, North Carolina, Miami, Florida State, Notre Dame, Louisville and Boston College at home.
The Mustangs will play a total of 13 ACC matches that lead up to the ACC Championship tournament in Cary, N.C., on April 15-19.
In the fall, junior
Trevor Svajda earned a runner-up finish at the NCAA Singles Championship. He became the first Mustang to reach the NCAA Singles Championship match since Richey Reneberg in 1986 and the first SMU player to earn All-America honors since Johan Brunstrom in 2004.
