AUSTIN, Texas (SMU) – SMU Men's Swimming won four events during the Sterkel Classic on Saturday at Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.

Notable Results
200 Free
Jack Berube opened the meet by taking first with a mark of 1:35.22. Jack Forrest joined him on the podium with a second-place finish after touching the wall in 1:35.97.
 
Sage Sungail and Jack Moore were right behind them with times of 1:37.25 and 1:37.32 to take fourth and fifth.
 
Also competing in the event were Kristaps Mikelsons (1:38.07), Eli Likins (1:39.53) and Graham Hohnbaum (1:41.05), who placed eighth, 11th and 12th.
 
100 Back
Russell Exum led the Mustangs with a mark of 48.52 to take fourth. Rob McCall (50.11) and Louis Fasani (51.44) were right behind him to place fifth and sixth.
 
100 Breast
With the second Mustang victory of the day, Joe Rusnock touched the wall in 54.34 to claim first. Lance Butler earned a mark of 54.78 to join him on the podium.
 
Asher Good saw a time of 55.31 to place fourth, while Ben Longeway placed sixth with a time of 55.75 and Joe Umhofer finished in 56.23 to claim seventh. Cotton Fields (57.12) and Ewan Lonergan (57.74) placed eighth and ninth.
 
200 Fly
Nico Sobenes led the Mustangs with a second-place finish after finishing in 1:46.26. Ryan Peckham joined him on the podium with a mark of 1:47.21.
 
Right behind the pair were Hunter Lund (1:48.01) and Mark Van Eybergen (1:52.14) in fourth and fifth.
 
50 Free
Harold Lockhart saw a 20.00 result to place second. Leif Bouwman placed fifth with a time of 20.48, while Jack Hoagland saw a mark of 20.71 to finish seventh.
 
Michael Ripper (20.78), Cameron Thompson (20.97) and Connor McClintic (21.00) placed eighth, ninth and 10th. Eric Stelmar came in 11th with a time of 21.09.
 
200 Back
Eric Stelmar led the Mustangs with a time of 1:43.47 to place second. Cotton Fields touched the wall in 1:45.94 to claim fifth, while Asher Good saw a mark of 1:46.46 to take sixth. Rob McCall (1:48.14) and Louie Fasani (1:51.74) placed seventh and eighth.
 
500 Free
Hunter Lund picked up the third win for the Mustangs on the day, touching the wall in 4:25.96 to claim first. Mark Van Eybergen finished in 4:27.50 to take second place.
 
100 Fly
Russell Exum saw a time of 47.67 to take a spot on the podium at third. Nico Sobenes finished in 47.80 to place fourth, while Jack Moore placed seventh with a mark of 48.41.
 
Kaleb Ikbal (48.52) and Ben Longeway (49.95) placed eighth and 12th.
 
200 IM
Ryan Peckham placed seventh with a time of 1:52.12.

Harold Lockhart took the win in the final event of the day with a time of 43.49. Michael Ripper placed sixth with a mark of 44.91, and Jack Forrest finished seventh with a time of 45.38.
 
Connor McClintic (45.51), Eli Likins (45.65), Cameron Thompson (46.15), Graham Hohnbaum (46.49) and Leif Bouwman (46.89) placed eighth through 12th.
