Fifth-ranked SMU Equestrian is set for its sixth top-five matchup of the season when No. 3 Georgia comes to town on Saturday morning at Dallas Equestrian Center.

The meet will begin at 10 a.m. at the home of the Mustangs, and admission is free to the public.

This will mark the second matchup between the Mustangs and the Bulldogs this season, with SMU taking the other meeting in Bishop, Georgia, 11-7. The Ponies will also put their 16-meet home win streak on the line, the second longest in the nation.

In its spring opener, SMU defeated South Dakota State, 19-1, and then took down No. 2 Texas A&M the following day to get over .500 for the season.  The two wins helped catapult the Mustangs back into the top five.

HORSEMANSHIP SHUTOUTS
SMU has been strong in horsemanship as of late, picking up three shutouts of the event during its fall slate. The Mustangs had a perfect 5-0 advantage in the event against No. 6 Georgia and No. 2 TCU, along with a 4-0 victory over No. 9 Baylor. SMU continued its success with a 5-0 result during the win over South Dakota State. In addition, the Mustangs have earned Horsemanship MOPs in all nine of the meets this season, with Nya Kearns leading the way with six.

NYA CONTINUING TO BREAK RECORDS
Against Auburn, Nya Kearns eclipsed two milestones for her collegiate career. Her victory in horsemanship marked the 50th of her career, and her MOP in the event earned her the 25th honor of her career. Both numbers are SMU records, and she now has the most horsemanship MOPs in NCEA history.

STRONG START FOR ELLI
So far this season, senior Elli Yeager has posted a strong start to open up her campaign. She is 7-2 on the flat for the year with four MOP honors. In addition, she was tabbed Flat Rider of the Month for the month of October. She also tallied a MOP in fences during the season opener against TCU.

UNDEFEATED THUS FAR
Two Mustangs boast unblemished records this season.  Nya Kearns sits at 9-0 in horsemanship. Chalyce Head holds an 8-0-1 record in reining this season.

BACK TO BACK
The Mustangs are the defending back-to-back National Champions, marking the 10th national title for SMU Athletics. SMU is the third school to claim back-to-back national titles, joining Auburn and Georgia.
