FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (SMU) – SMU Women's Swimming and Diving sophomore
Maddy Parker wrapped her first NCAA Championships in the 100 Free at Federal Way, Washington, on Saturday.
Parker placed 26
th in the 100 free with a time of 48.13. She moved up 10 places from her entry seed.
The time is also Parker's second-fastest career time in the event. The Spanish Fork, Utah, native swam her best time of 48.09 in the Toyota US Open in December to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Parker competed in three events at the NCAA Championships. She raced the 50 free and placed 61
st (22.42) on Thursday before placing 43rd with a time of 1:46.24 in the 200 free on Friday.
Along with Parker in the championships was Mustang Diver
Jaclynn Fowler, who competed on 1-meter at the NCAA Championships in her second consecutive season. Fowler placed 30
th in the event on Thursday.
