Mustangs Conclude Home Last Chance Meet

DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU men's swimming & diving team earned seven new All-Time Top Performances, highlighted by Jack Berube's school record in the 200 back, during the Last Chance Meet that concluded on Saturday evening at Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center.
 
Berube swam a time of 1:40.37 in the 200 back to break Eric Stelmar's school record. This marks the second time the sophomore has broken the record this season, previously earning it during the prelims session at the ACC Championships.

THURSDAY NOTABLE RESULTS
500 Free
Jack Forrest led the group of Mustangs in the event with a time of 4:15.56, just .1 seconds off of his personal best. Mark Van Eybergen (4:22.84), Laszlo Galicz (4:24.51) and Jack Hoagland (4:36.28) also recorded times in the event.
 
Van Eybergen competed in a time trial on Friday evening, recording a time of 4:22.21. Hunter Lund also saw action in Friday's time trial, touching the wall in 4:31.84.
 
Forrest turned in a time of 4:17.24 during a time trial on Saturday evening. Leif Bouwman also recorded a time on Saturday, going 4:37.06.
 
200 IM
Jack Moore touched the wall in 1:45.33 during finals, while Asher Good saw a mark of 1:49.59.
 
50 Free
Finals of the event saw Lance Butler finish in 19.75, with Cameron Thompson (20.11) and Leif Bouwman (20.46) also recording times in finals.
 
During a time trial on Friday evening, Sage Sungail touched the wall in 19.67.
 
400 IM
In a time trial following the finals session, Joe Umhofer touched the wall in 4:03.07.
 
FRIDAY NOTABLE RESULTS
100 Fly
In finals, Sage Sungail added himself to the SMU All-Time Top Performer's list with a 47.20 effort. Leif Bouwman touched the wall in 48.41. Cameron Thompson had a mark of 48.97 during prelims of the event. Kaleb Ikbal recorded a mark of 48.26 in a time trial on Friday evening.
 
In a time trial on Thursday evening, Ben Longeway touched the wall in 48.77.
 
200 Free
Eli Likins posted a time of 1:35.81 to lead the Mustangs in finals. Jack Moore finished behind him with a time of 1:36.18. In prelims, Harold Lockhart touched the wall in 1:35.84.
 
100 Breast
Lance Butler had the third-fastest performance in Mustang history with a 52.25 effort in finals. Kristaps Mikelsons moved to fourth all-time with a mark of 52.31. Also in finals, Joe Rusnock touched the wall in 53.14.
 
Ben Longeway (55.26), Leif Bouwman (56.00) also competed in finals. Asher Good recorded a time of 54.95 in prelims, while Ewan Lonergan saw a mark of 55.66.
 
During a time trial on Saturday evening, Longeway had a time of 55.27.
 
100 Back
Jack Berube led SMU with a 46.00 effort, just .26 off his school record and personal best. Louie Fasani saw his best time in prelims, touching the wall in 48.99 while Graham Hohnbaum finished in 49.36 in finals.
 
In a time trial on Thursday evening, Eli Likins touched the wall in 48.13. Cameron Thompson earned a mark of 50.34.
 
SATURDAY NOTABLE RESULTS
1650 Free
Laszlo Galicz saw a mark of 14:59.07, while Mark Van Eybergen touched the wall in 15:33.13.
 
200 Back
Louie Fasani earned a time of 1:47.31 during finals.
 
In a time trial on Thursday evening, Jack Berube swam a 1:40.37 to set a new school record. This marked the second time the sophomore had broken the record this season, previously breaking it in prelims at the ACC Championships.
 
100 Free
During Saturday's finals, Sage Sungail earned a new personal best of 42.81. Eli Likins (43.68) and Jack Moore (44.10) also competed in the Saturday evening session.
 
During prelims, Cameron Thompson (44.54) and Leif Bouwman (45.05) saw action.
 
In a time trial on Friday evening, Ryan Peckham finished in 45.21.
 
200 Breast
Leading the Mustangs in finals was Kristaps Mikelsons, who touched the wall in 1:54.32 to move himself up to third all time. Also in finals, Joe Umhofer finished in 1:59.06.
 
Ewan Lonergan saw his best mark in prelims, finishing in 2:00.56.
 
200 Fly
Ryan Peckham touched the wall in 1:45.37 during finals. In prelims, Hunter Lund recorded a mark of 1:51.33.
