SMU divers John Dymond and Luke Sitz are set to seek NCAA Championships qualification at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships beginning on Monday at Campus Recreation and Wellness Center on the campus of the University of Iowa.

On Monday the pair will compete on 1-meter, while Tuesday will feature the 3-meter. Â
Prelims will begin at noon the first two days, with finals following.Â

SITZ AND INFO
Freshman diver Luke Sitz earned a conference-record six ACC Diver of the Week honors on six tries and has earned podium finishes during each of his meets this season. Sitz continued his success during the ACC Championships, picking up a silver medal on 3-meter and bronze on 1-meter In addition, he reached the NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks in each competition this year. In October, he won his third consecutive ACC Diver of the Week honor, making him the second diver to ever win three straight since its inception in 2012 and the first freshman to ever accomplish the feat.

Sitz's accomplishments are not limited to SMU, as he also competed at the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships on behalf of the United States during the week of Thanksgiving. The Prosper native posted three top-six finishes, including placing fifth on both 3-meter and 3-meter synchronized. His collegiate success was foreshadowed last summer when he recorded two top-four finishes at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials, the highest finisher below the age of 20 on both 3-meter and 3-meter synchronized.

DYMOND AT ZONES
This marks the second straight year John Dymond has competed at zones. The junior competed last season on 1-meter and 3-meter, and is set to take on the two events again this season.
