Billy White III, a 6-8 forward from Veterans Memorial High School in Corpus Christi, Texas has signed with the Mustangs for the 2025-26 season, Head Coach
Andy Enfield announced today. White III joins SMU's incoming prep class that is ranked as high as No. 10 nationally.
White III is a consensus top-50 national prospect ranked as high as No. 31 in the class of 2026. He is reclassifying to 2025 to join the Mustangs this season. As a junior in 2024-25, he was selected to the All-State Tournament Team and named All-South Texas MVP after averaging 18.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 steals. He led Veterans Memorial to a 39-1 record including a run to the UIL 5A Division I semifinals.
In Head Coach
Andy Enfield's first season on the Hilltop, the Mustangs went 24-11 overall and earned a No. 1 seed in the NIT. SMU finished 13-7 in the program's inaugural season in the ACC to tie for fourth, recording a 7-3 road record in league play. The Mustangs also won the Acrisure Holiday Invitational. The incoming high school class is the highest rated in program history.
