LAKE FOREST, Ill. (SMU) – SMU men's golf holds seventh place after two rounds of the Windon Memorial Classic.
 
Against a field that includes seven of 16 teams ranked or receiving votes in the coaches poll, the Mustangs sat in eighth place after a round one where the team shot four under par. They improved by five strokes in round two with a nine-under score. The Mustangs are at 13-under across the two rounds. No. 12 Illinois leads the field at 24-under. SMU sits seven shots back of the top two, Kansas and Notre Dame, at 20-under.
 
SMU was led by senior Christian Clark who carded rounds of 69 and 68, good for seven below. He holds a share of third place. He eagled the par-four, 357 yard 13^th hole during his second round. Clark will be in search of his best collegiate finish on Tuesday. Clark sits three strokes back of the top spot occupied by Hartej Grewaj of Kansas.
 
Fresh off an individual victory at the Stephens Cup, Will Sides sits in a tie for 22^nd place at three under par. He carded two under-par rounds of 70 and 71 giving the senior 56 rounds of par or better in his career.
 
Areen Aggarwal and Zachary Kingsland are tied at one-under in 33^rd place. Aggarwal tallied an eagle on a par five, 504 yard hole six. He shot a 70 in round two. Zachary Kingsland shot rounds of 73 and 70. He came to life during the front nine of round two, birdieing six times with three pars, good for a 30 on the scorecard.
 
Gabe Post sits in a tie for 53^rd after shooting rounds of 72 and 74.
 
The Mustangs look to advance up the leaderboard during the final round on Tuesday.
