DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis fell 4-1 to No. 23 Florida to close its ITA National Indoor Championship at Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex on Sunday.
 
Trevor Svajda remains undefeated in singles play with a straight set win on court one to improve his spring record to 8-0.
 
The junior defeated No. 54 Adhitya Ganesan on court one to record his fourth ranked singles win of the season. He has won all his matches in straight sets this spring.
 
Despite Svajda's triumph, the Gators clinched the win with the doubles point and three singles matches.
 
SMU closed its ITA National Indoor Championship with a 1-2 record, recording its first ITA National Indoor Championship match win since 2000 against No. 22 Arizona State on Saturday.
 
How it Went
Florida took the first point of the day despite a strong doubles performance from the Mustangs on courts one and two.
 
The visitors' pair of Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini defeated Jerry Barton and Krish Arora 6-1 on court three, before their court one pair of Henry Jefferson and Lorenzo Claverie defeated Trevor Svajda and Alex Finkelstein (6-4) to clinch the doubles point.
 
Svajda kept his dominant form in singles play by winning his match against No. 54 Adhitya Ganesan 6-1, 7-5 on court one, but Florida managed to win three other singles courts to win the match.
