Volleyball to Play in Inaugural Paradise Invitational in the Bahamas

DALLAS (SMU/GS Global Sports) - SMU Volleyball is one of four teams selected to play in the inaugural Paradise Invitational in the Bahamas from September 11-13. The Mustangs will play two matches at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas.

The Paradise Invitational will make its debut as a first-of-its-kind, premium destination, four-team NCAA women's volleyball showcase, bringing together Houston, Kentucky, Purdue and SMU —one elite program from each Power 4 conference - to compete. Taking place September 11-13 at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas, the weekend promises top-tier competition and immersive fan experiences that provide an unforgettable weekend for teams, supporters, and the sport itself.

Tickets will go on sale March 16 at www.paradiseinvitational.com. Additional details, including ticket packages, match schedules, media rights and fan programming, will be announced in the coming weeks.

"Events like this are big time, and we've seen them happening in men's basketball for years, " said Head Coach Sam Erger. "Women's volleyball has stepped up to the national stage and has the fan bases and excitement to participate in these exciting opportunities. Great teams, great location and a great opportunity to elevate our sport."

With the announcement on Monday, three non-conference dates have been released for the 2026 season. Along with the two matches in the Paradise Invitational, the Mustangs will take on Texas A&M in the AVCA First Serve Showcase on Sunday, Aug. 23, in Milwaukee.
