DALLAS (SMU) — SMU Men's Tennis senior doubles pair of Jerry Barton and Krish Arora has been selected to compete at the Nexo Dallas Open Collegiate Doubles Wild Card Playoff, as announced on Wednesday.
 
The qualifying tournament will feature doubles pairs from SMU, TCU, Baylor, and Texas A&M. Three doubles matches will be played on Feb. 7, and the winners of each match will qualify for the Nexo Dallas Open Main Draw Doubles bracket as a wild card bid. 
 
"We at GF Sports & Entertainment believe in the value of college tennis. The Nexo Dallas Open ATP 500 event recognizes the depth of collegiate tennis with the state of Texas home to so many top universities," said tournament director Peter Lebedevs.
 
"TCU is the 2024 NCAA Champion and the 2025 NCAA runner-up. Texas A&M has been a top 15 national powerhouse for decades and their recent alumni list includes Kypson, Rinderknech, Vacherot and French Open and Dallas resident, Austin Krajicek. Baylor won the NCAA in 2004 and has hosted so many collegiate and professional events the past two decades. SMU is where the Dallas Open began back in 2022 and thrilled they will continue to be a part of great DFW tennis."
 
This will be Barton's second appearance at the Dallas Open after debuting in 2024. Arora is set to make his first appearance in the ATP tournament.

Junior Mustang Trevor Svajda has already earned a wild card bid to the main draw of the tournament.
 
Draws for the tournament will be announced on Friday.
