PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. (SMU) – Will Sides shares the individual lead heading into the final day of play at the Pauma Valley Invitational. As a team, the Mustangs sit in eighth place.
 
Sides will be in search of his third collegiate individual title on Wednesday after posting his second consecutive 67 on Tuesday. The senior carded just one bogey for the second day in a row on his way to an impressive round. Sides is tied with Lance Simpson of Tennessee for the individual lead. The two have a two-stroke cushion on the rest of the field. Sides has his season scoring average down to 70.36 this year.
 
Facing off against a field of 11 top 50 teams including nine top 20 teams, the Mustangs occupy eighth place after day two. They came into the day in fifth place before posting a one-over score, moving the Mustangs to two-under for the tournament. The teams are bunched up near the middle with the Mustangs within four strokes of the top four. SMU is ahead of four ranked teams including No. 2 Virginia and No. 10 Texas Tech. Tennessee leads the field at 11-under at the Pauma Valley Country Club.
 
Zachary Kingsland and Ben Steinmann share 37^th place after two rounds. Steinmann shot even par with just two bogeys on his card. Kingsland shot one over with three birdies.

Gabe Post sits at five-over par in 63^rd place while Christian Clark holds 87^th at 11-over par.
 
Sides and the Mustangs return to the course for the final round on Wednesday. Sides will look to tie Nathan Petronzio, Bryson DeChambeau, Hank Kuehne, and Noah Goodwin for third on the Mustangs career wins leaderboard.
