DALLAS (SMU) – No. 32 SMU Men's Tennis is set to host No. 18 Notre Dame on Friday before taking on No. 53 Louisville at Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex this weekend.

The Mustangs' match against Notre Dame will begin at 5 pm CT and Sunday's match will start at noon.

SMU will feature current top-ranked singles player, Trevor Svajda, who reclaimed his No. 1 ranking on March 17.

Friday's match against Notre Dame will feature a ceremonial first serve by Ron Rosas, a Dallas native and Notre Dame Men's Tennis alum, who lost all four limbs in a battle with pneumonia.

Last Time Out
  • The Mustangs are coming off a 1-1 home ACC weekend.
  • SMU defeated Florida State 4-1 on Sunday after falling short 4-3 against Miami last Friday. The Hurricanes won a tight tiebreaker clincher.

  • SMU trails its series against Notre Dame 3-8. The last time the Mustangs were matched against the Fighting Irish was in 2022, when UND won 4-3.

  • SMU has won five Player of the Week honors this season. Three Mustangs have earned the honors with Trevor Svajda having won three of the awards.

  • Trevor Svajda is the top-ranked singles player in college tennis. This is his third week as the No. 1-ranked singles player this season.

Svajda defeated Mississippi State's Petar Johanovic 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals to become the first Mustang to reach the semifinals—also the first Mustang since Reneberg in 1986.

  • Two Fighting Irish doubles pairs are ranked. Luis Llorens Saracho and Peter Nad are ranked No. 53 and Sebastian Dominiko and Peter Nad are ranked No. 55.
