Miller, Edwards And Pierre Jr. Earn All-ACC Accolades

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – Senior guard Boopie Miller was named All-ACC Second Team and senior guards B.J. Edwards and Jaron Pierre Jr. both earned All-ACC Honorable Mention, the ACC announced on Monday. Edwards was also selected to the ACC All-Defensive Team and earned votes for Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player.
 
Miller is averaging 19.4 points (5th ACC / 48th NCAA), 6.6 assists (2nd ACC, 13th NCAA), 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals (11th ACC) with a 2.44 assist-to-turnover ratio (6th ACC, 83rd NCAA). He is shooting 47.5% from the field, 42.4% on threes and 87.0% on free throws (4th ACC / 58th NCAA) while recording five points-assists double-doubles. His late-game heroics include a half-court buzzer-beater for the 77-76 win versus Virginia Tech on Jan. 14.
 
Miller had 27 points and in the win versus [12/12] North Carolina on Jan. 3 to earn honors as ACC Player of the Week, AP National Player of the Week and one of five Oscar Robertson Trophy National Players of the Week (Jan. 6). He was a preseason All-ACC Second Team selection as well as part of the Lute Olson Award Early Season Watch List and Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List. He was also No. 30 on the ESPN Top 50 Players at midseason and received votes on The Athletic Midseason All-America Teams. He was on the All-ACC Third Team in 2024-25.
 
Edwards earned three ACC Player of the Week honors this season. He is averaging 12.7 points (31st ACC), 5.9 rebounds (19th ACC), 4.9 assists (7th ACC / 67th NCAA) and 2.3 steals (1st ACC / 11th NCAA) with a 2.56 assist-to-turnover ratio (4th ACC / 69th NCAA). He has two triple-doubles this season, and is one of three players in the nation with multiple triple-doubles. He also leads the nation with three games of at least 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals; and is one of just six players to record three such games in a season since 2004.
 
This is the second straight Edwards is on the ACC All-Defensive Team and receiving votes ACC Most Improved Player. Only ACC Player of the Year, Cameron Boozer from Duke, earned more ACC Player of the Week Honors this season.
 
Pierre Jr. is averaging 17.5 points (8th ACC), 5.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.9 steals while shooting 46.3% overall, 37.7% on threes and 75.0% on at the free-throw line. He was the Hoop Hype XL Player of the Game after scoring 35 points in the 93-80 overtime win versus Texas A&M on Dec. 7. He has a dozen 20-point games for the Mustangs this season.
 
In the second season under Head Coach Andy Enfield, the Mustangs are 19-12 overall. SMU recorded a pair of ranked wins over [12/12] North Carolina on Jan. 3 (97-83) and [21/21] Louisville on Feb. 17 (95-85). That is the most ranked wins for SMU since 2019-20 (2) and the most ranked wins at Moody Coliseum since 2013-14 (3). The program at least received votes in the AP or USA Today Coaches Poll in nine weeks and was No. 24 in the AP Top 25 and No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll on Jan. 5. That was the first time the Mustangs were ranked since the final poll of the 2016-17 season.
 
 SMU is averaging 85.0 points (2nd ACC, 20th NCAA) and 17.1 assists (3rd ACC, 30th NCAA) while shooting 49.3% (3rd ACC, 22nd NCAA) overall and 37.8% on threes (2nd ACC, 23rd NCAA). The No. 11 seeded Mustangs will face No. 14 seeded Syracuse (15-16) in the first round of the T. Rowe Price ACC Tournament on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. CT.
