SMU rowing takes part in its second meet of the season traveling to Florida for the Orlando Invite hosted by UCF. Action begins on Friday at at 7 a.m. CT for SMU with the 3v8s. Rowing continues into Saturday with another early morning start.
 
THE FIELD
The field features hosts No. 11 UCF along with No. 13 Alabama, No. 14 Duke, No. 15 Miami, No. 19 Penn, No. 24 Oklahoma, Clemson and SMU.

LAST TIME OUT
SMU posted two first place finishes on Friday at the Sarasota 2K. They came across the line first in the 1v8 and 2v8. The team qualified for the A final in four of five boats. They bested the likes of Boston College, Drexel, High Point, Tulsa, Miami, Dartmouth and Jacksonville. On Saturday, they raced in four A finals with a best finish of fifth in the 1v8 and 3v8. The Mustangs won the B final in 2v4.
 
DOOLEY NAMED TO WATCH LIST
Sophia Dooley was named to the ACC 2026 Preseason Watch List by the conference. The Watch List includes one student-athlete from each program nominated by their respective schools. The ACC is the only conference that has a preseason rowing watch list.
 
NEXT UP
Next week, the Mustangs hit the road again for the Lake Wheeler Invitational hosted by Duke. The meet runs April 23-25 in Raleigh, N.C.
