ORLANDO (SMU) – SMU rowing wrapped up competition at the Orlando Invite racing in one "A" final on Saturday.
SMU qualified for the "A" final in the 3v8 with a second-place finish on Friday. In Saturday's final they placed in fifth, 2.7 seconds behind fourth place Miami.
In the 2v4 final, the Mustangs crossed the line in 8:04.1, behind Clemson and Oklahoma. Next up was the 1v4s. The Mustangs placed second in front of Clemson by 2.9 seconds and behind Oklahoma.
In the 2v8 final, SMU posted a 6:53.9 finish, good for second place. The Mustangs finished in front of Oklahoma by 4.7 seconds. The final SMU race of the weekend was the 1v8s. The team finished in third with a time of 6:45.1.
SMU hits the water for their next meet, the Lake Wheeler Invitational, on April 23. The event runs through April 25 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
