DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- SMU's Haylie Donovan was named ACC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Freshman of the Week for her performance at the SMU Invitational this past weekend.
Donovan ran a personal-best time of 54.04 seconds in the 400 meters at the Mustang's home meet on Saturday. Her time is the fourth-fastest time in program history and ranks her 16th in the ACC this season.
She also was a member of the second-fastest 4x400 relay team in program history. The team ran 3:37.07 and set both SMU Invitational meet and facility records.
"Improvement like this doesn't happen by accident," Head Coach A'Havahla Haynes said. "As a freshman, it is the result of showing up, trusting the process, and committing day after day. This reflects not just performance, but belief in the work."
