SMU Hall Of Famer And Pro Football Hall Of Famer Raymond Berry Passes Away

SMU Athletics is saddened to learn of the passing of SMU football legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Raymond Berry.

Berry's journey from the Hilltop to the Pro Football Hall of Fame established him as one of the most accomplished receivers in football history. A two-time NFL champion, Berry earned two letters as a Mustang two-way player in 1953 and 1954. His jersey was retired in 2000, and he was inducted into the SMU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.

Berry's work ethic and dedication to excellence embodied the values of SMU and left a lasting mark on the sport of football. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, teammates and all who were touched by his life and legacy.
