DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Volleyball Head Coach
Sam Erger has released the complete non-conference slate, finalizing the 2026 schedule.
The slate includes up to five teams that finished last season ranked in the top 18 of the AVCA poll: No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 2 Kentucky, No. 6 Texas, No. 8 Purdue and No. 18 TCU.
In total, SMU will be on the road for eight of its ten non-conference matches, five of which will be at neutral site venues.
Fans will get their first glimpse of the complete 2026 roster with two scrimmages, the first being the annual Red vs. Blue Scrimmage on Wednesday, Aug. 12. SMU will then host its first Alumni Match on Friday, Aug. 14.
After the previously announced
AVCA First Serve match with Texas A&M in Milwaukee and the
Spikes Under the Lights exhibition showcase at AT&T Stadium in Arlington to open the season, the Mustangs will travel to Fort Collins, Colorado, for two matches from Aug. 29-30. SMU will face the host team, Colorado State, followed by a matchup with UC Davis.
SMU will then face TCU for the first time since 2021, battling the Horned Frogs in Fort Worth on Sept. 2 before heading back out west for a matchup at San Diego on Sept. 4.
The meeting with Texas in the
Showdown at the Net and then two matches in the Bahamas for the
Paradise Invitational will be the final trips away from the DFW area in non-conference action for the Mustangs.
Next, SMU will face Rice on TCU's campus on Sept. 17, followed by a home match versus Yale on Saturday, Sept. 19, to close out non-conference action. The Mustangs' ACC opener is at home against Stanford on Friday, Sept. 25.
