PHILADELPHIA (SMU) - SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings was named to the 90th Maxwell Award watch list on Monday. 

The Maxwell Football Club partners with Phil Steele Publications as selection committee partners. The full list includes 81 players across 63 teams throughout the country. The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has 15 players, tied for third most by any conference.

As the starting quarterback for the Mustangs in 2025, Jennings led the team to a 9-4 record. The most notable win being against No.10 Miami in overtime where he threw for a season-high 365 yards. Jennings also made the preseason watch list last year.

Last season, the Texas native finished with career highs in passing yards (3,641), career-passing touchdowns (26), completions (300) and completion percentage (66.0). 

This marks another accolade for the former South Oak Cliff standout, also earning all-conference honors from multiple national publications.

The Maxwell Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA), which encompasses college football's most prestigious awards. The NCFAA's 25 awards have honored more than 900 recipients since 1935. This season, 12 NCFAA awards will honor national players of the week each Tuesday. 

Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be named November 10, with the three finalists for the Maxwell Award selected November 24. The winner will be announced as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards held on December 10.
