NASSAU, Bahamas (SMU) – The No. 8 SMU volleyball team (6-2) fell for just the second time this season, losing in three sets to No. 14 Purdue (5-2) Sunday afternoon with set scores of 30-28, 25-23 and 25-22.

Despite the loss, Suli Davis went for another double-double, her fourth straight match doing so. The sophomore ended the outing with 17 kills, hitting .292, with 10 digs.

Favor Anyanwu joined Davis in double figures, surpassing the double-digit kill mark for the third time this season, in a 12-kill effort on an efficient .429 hitting percentage.

Victoria Harris reached the 10+ digs mark for the eighth straight match to start the year, collecting 16 digs in the effort.

With the win, Purdue improved to 5-0 against the Mustangs in the all-time series. The Boilermakers out-blocked the Mustangs 10-7 and hit .257 compared to a .220 percentage by the Mustangs.

The Boilermakers were in double figures in kills, led by Grace Heaney, who ended the match with 12 kills.
