CHARLOTTE, N.C. (ACC/SMU) – The ACC announced SMU's conference slate on Wednesday. The Mustangs open conference play hosting Virginia on Nov. 29 inside Moody Coliseum.  

The 18-game slate will feature nine games inside Moody Coliseum. Of the nine home games, the Mustangs will host six teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season: Virginia (11/29), Clemson (1/14), Louisville (1/24), NC State (1/28), UNC (2/14) and Duke (2/25).

SMU's ACC home slate will also include games against Stanford (1/3), Pitt (2/7), and Cal (2/21). Pitt is the only team SMU will face twice during conference play.

The Mustangs' road ACC contests are at Syracuse (12/6), at Wake Forest (12/31), at Boston College (1/7), at Pitt (1/10), at Georgia Tech (1/21), at Miami (1/31), at Notre Dame (2/4), at Virginia Tech (2/11) and at Florida State (2/28).

The ACC Women's Basketball Tournament is March 3-7 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Mustangs' non-conference schedule will consist of 10 games inside Moody Coliseum and is highlighted by a home game against Georgia as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge. SMU will also play in the Hoopfest Basketball Women's Challenge in Frisco during Thanksgiving week.

SMU enters year two under Head Coach Adia Barnes, who brought in an exciting group of portal additions ahead of the 2026-27 season, including Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Kinsea Grimes (Coastal Carolina), CAA Defensive Player of the Year Grace Ezebilo (Charleston), Pitt transfer Theresa Hagans Jr., who earned 2025-26 ACC All-Freshman Team honors, and French standout forward Adja Kane.

The Mustangs also welcomed back Zahra King, who delivered one of the most dominant performances in all of college basketball last season with a remarkable 40-point game in a win over Pitt.
