SMU Men’s Tennis Announces Fall 2026 Schedule

Fall Schedule

DALLAS (SMU) — SMU Men's Tennis Head Coach Grant Chen announces his team's schedule for the fall of 2026 on Thursday.

The Mustangs will play in eight regular-season tournaments, leading up to the NCAA Individual Championships on Nov. 16-20. This year's NCAA Individual Championships will be held in Athens, Georgia.

"Fall will be great opportunity to get better and see what some new Mustangs are capable of doing on a regional and national stage," said Chen.

"We look forward to competing against a nice blend of schools from different sections and challenge our players."

SMU will open the season at the Chowderfest Tournament hosted by Harvard on Sept. 18-20.

The Mustangs' road to the 2026 NCAA Individual Championships will begin at the ITA All-American Championships (Sept. 19-27) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They will compete in the tournament for 10 singles and four doubles qualifying spots for the NCAA Championships.

Chen's squad will then compete at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup on Sept. 25-27. In a field of 12 teams, SMU will compete against UCLA, USC, Pepperdine, California, GCU, Pacific, LMU, Saint Mary's College, New Mexico, Cal Poly and BYU.

A second opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships will be at the ITA Texas Regional Championships hosted by TCU, Oct. 9-13. Twenty-six singles and 13 doubles NCAA Championships qualifiers will be named at the Regional Championships.

Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex is set to host the annual Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1.

The ITA Sectional and Conference Masters Championships, scheduled for Nov. 5-8, are the Mustangs' final opportunities to qualify for the NCAA. The ITA Sectionals will have 24 singles and 12 doubles spots for the NCAA Individual Championships, while the Conference Masters will have four singles and three doubles spots.
