Sydney Lobato, a 5-10 setter from Las Vegas, Nev., is a four-year letterwinner at Bishop Gorman High School. As a junior, she led her team to the state championship for the first time in school history, earning first-team all-region honors. She is a three-time recipient of the Scholar Athlete award and three-time Nevada All-State Academic Team honoree. She recorded nearly 2,000 assists, finishing with 1,992 and averaging 6.4 per set while playing in a 6-2 system. She also had 440 digs and 180 aces.

She started each of the past three seasons as a setter for the Vegas Aces 18s club team, earning a bid to the 2018 national championships after winning the gold division at the SCVA Qualifier in Anaheim, Calif. In 2016, her club team finished fourth in the gold division at the Houston qualifier and was ranked in the top 20 in the SCVA California one-day tournament season. She also played soccer and competed in swimming and track and field at Bishop Gorman.
