PERSONAL: Kottler hails from Cincinnati, Ohio where she rowed with Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club. She earned a silver medal in the men's U-17 4+ Nationals in 2023 and a silver medal in women's U-17 8+. She has racked up 33 assorted regional medals.
 
FROM THE COACH: "Marina is passionate about leading her teammates from inside and outside the coxswain seat," said head coach Chase Graham. "She matches up with our core values of high character, hard work, and cares deeply about her teammates doing well."
 
CHOOSING SMU: Kottler is most excited about joining the team itself along with the spirit the culture. She is looking forward to meeting new people.
