Jared Anderson joined the SMU Women’s Basketball staff in 2021 after spending two years as a graduate assistant in the athletic communications department at St. John's University in Queens, N.Y. Anderson is responsible for the development and execution of SMU women’s basketball’s digital brand strategy.

Prior to arriving at the Hilltop, Anderson produced graphics, videos and animations for St. John’s Division I men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball and track & field programs. He also served as the primary contact for the volleyball & track & field teams while managing six team social media accounts. Anderson earned a master’s degree in sport management from St. John’s in May 2021.

Anderson has two bachelor's degrees from the University of Kansas in journalism and communication studies, graduating in May 2019. While at Kansas, Anderson worked as a creative and editorial intern for SLAM Magazine. He also worked as a creative communications intern for the ECHL's Kansas City Mavericks hockey team.
