Kristen Grant joined the staff at SMU as the Video Coordinator in 2018 after three years in the same position at Texas A&M, where she graduated in 2013. She was promoted to Director of Media in 2019. Grant spent one season as the Director of Player Development and the Assistant Video Coordinator at Texas A&M before being promoted to Video Coordinator. As a player for the Aggies, Grant made four appearances in the NCAA Tournament with a 12-3 record and won the 2011 National Championship. She earned a master's degree from Texas A&M in 2017. In addition to working on game film and scouting, Grant will also play a key role in the program's creative efforts and social media.
"Hiring Kristen is a win-win situation. She is just as excited to return home to the DFW area as we are to bring someone of her caliber and abilities to SMU," Mays stated. "Her experience as a member of a National Championship team at Texas A&M will pay dividends with what we are trying to build within our program. I believe she will make an immediate impact and we cannot wait for her to hit the ground running."
