Payton Courier is in her second season as a member of the SMU coaching staff after coming to the Hilltop in 2023.

She was promoted to Assistant Director of Operations / Special Assistant to the Head Coach for the 2024 season after spending her first year at SMU as a graduate assistant. 

Prior to her time at SMU she played three seasons at Western Illinois and finishing at Purdue Northwest. Courier served as a student assistant at Purdue Northwest. during the 2022-23 season.  

Courier earned her Bachelor’s degree in biology graduating from Purdue Northwest in 2022.Â
