Jake Mussett joined the volleyball program as a manager in 2019. The Austin, Texas, native is a junior at SMU pursuing a degree in Mathematics. He has worked as a volleyball coach at Summit Volleyball Club in Plano since 2017. He attended the USA Volleyball Academy and is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.  Jake is a founding officer of the SMU men’s club volleyball team, and has been a player-coach since arriving on the Hilltop.
As a player, Jake was a member of Austin Juniors Volleyball Club, and led his team to a runner-up finish at the Lone Star Classic in 2015 and a bronze medal at the tournament in 2016. He attended the 2018 USA Volleyball National Team open tryout as a middle blocker. In 2015 competed on the USAV High Performance Youth Continental Team.
