The SMU rowing team continued day two of the Longhorn Invitational with duals against Kansas State in the morning and Iowa in the afternoon session at Town Lake in Austin, Texas.

In the first novice eight race against Kansas State, the Wildcats edged the Ponies with a time of 7:19.6 to SMU's 7:43.6. In the second varsity eight race SMU fell to K-State with a time of 7:37.0 to KSU's 7:05.4. KSU swept the head-to-head match-up against SMU with a time of 6:56.1 in the first varsity eight sprint. SMU recorded a time of 6:57.6. The Mustangs were leading the race until the final 100 meters.

In the afternoon session, the Mustangs faced Iowa, as the first novice eight squad defeated the Iowa counterpart with a time of 7:40.3, to the Hawkeye's 7:41.8. SMU was unable to continue the momentum as both the second and first varsity eights lost in head-to-head battles against Iowa.

The Mustangs conclude competition at the Lonhorn Invite Sunday.
