TUNICA, Miss. (SMU) - Battling 35-mile-an-hour winds, the SMU men's golf team stands in first place following two rounds of play at the University Club Intercollegiate at the Tunica National Golf Course. The Mustangs had rounds of 300 and 302 to stand at 26-over par 602, four shots ahead of fellow C-USA squad UAB.
SMU standouts Will Dodson (76-74-150) and Colt Knost (78-72-150) led the solid team outing and are tied for 10th. Scott Sikes (74-79-153) is tied for 20th, while Wes Homan (72-82-154) is tied at 25th. Brandon DeStefano (81-77-158) rounds out the SMU group in a 40th-place tie.
The final 18 holes of the two-day, 54-hole event are set for Tuesday.
