TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -Devon Pearson scored 17 points to lead SMU to a 70-54 victory over McNeese State on Monday, the second day of the Colonial Classic.
A day after SMU made only one shot from behind the arc, the Mustangs made 12-of-22 3-pointer.
Ike Ofoegbu had 14 points and eight rebounds and Jon Killen added 13 points and nine assists for SMU. Derrick Roberts added 11 points for the Mustangs (2-0).
John Ford's 3-pointer at the buzzer brought McNeese State (0-2) within two points at the half, 27-25, but the Cowboys could get no closer. Ford scored all 11 of his points in the first half.
Jarvis Bradley led the Cowboys with 15 points and eight rebounds. Troy Aaron added 13 points - all in the second half.
