TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Toney Douglas scored 14 points in the second half, including a pair of crucial free throws with 39 seconds left, to lead Florida State to a 59-52 victory over SMU in Tuesday's final in the Colonial Classic.
Al Thornton scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds and Jerel Allen added 11 points for the Seminoles (3-0).
SMU's Jon Killen scored a career-high 15 points, but also had eight turnovers. Donatas Rackauskas added 13 points and six rebounds off the bench. The Mustangs also got 12 points from Derrick Roberts.
SMU (2-1) held a 26-25 halftime lead, and led late in the second half.
Douglas hit three consecutive baskets to give Florida State a 45-41 lead with 5:29 left in the game. SMU closed to within two points with 44 seconds left on a three-pointer from Rackauskas before Douglas' free throws.
Ike Ofoegbu and Killen were named to the All-Tournament Team. Ofoegbu averaged 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds. Killen averaged 10.7 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.3 steals.
