DALLAS (SMU) - The No. 49 SMU men's tennis team continues their winning streak this afternoon as they defeated Grambling St., 6-0, at the Haggar Tennis Stadium. The Mustangs are 7-0 on the season, their best start for the spring season since the 2000-01 season when the Mustangs went on winning streak of 10-0.

The Mustangs dominated in singles and doubles action. After earning their spot at the No. 1 doubles a few matches ago, David Kuczer and Alex Skrypko are still playing strong as they downed the duo from Grambling St., 8-1. Playing at the No. 2 position was Henrik Soderberg and Federico Murgier. They won their doubles, 8-5. The No. 3 doubles did not play.

In the singles competition, Skrypko stepped up to play at the No. 1 spot and defeated Dellon Lorimer, 6-2, 6-2. At the No. 2 position, Murgier defended the Mustangs with a 6-1, 6-3, win over Jamon Clayton. Kuczer battled at No. 3 downing Chad Edwards, 6-1, 6-0. At the No. 4 spot was Soderberg as he overcame Herva Hicintuko, 6-1, 6-1. The No. 5 spot was filled by Yeugen Ryeznik as he outlasted J. Argueira, 6-0, 6-1. The No. 6 singles did not play.

The Mustangs will return to the courts next Sun., Feb. 19 in Austin, Texas against No. 20 Texas at noon.
