WAHIAWA, Oahu (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team fired a 17-under-par 271 to make a big move up to third at the John Burns Intercollegiate at the Leilehua Golf Course on Thursday, Feb. 23. SMU now stands at 26-under and trails co-leaders Auburn and BYU by three strokes heading into Friday's final round.
Colt Knost leads the SMU squad 9-under 135 after carding a 66 on Thursday. Wes Homan also shot a 66 and is tied for 18th at 6-under 138. Brandon DeStefano continued his strong play, again carding an 68 to tie for 10th at 8-under 136. Scott Sikes was also solid, shooting a 1-under 71 and stands tied for 38th at 3-under 144. Two-time All-American Will Dodson broke par on Thursday with a 1-under 71 and is tied with teammate Dan Kleckner at 1-under for the tournament at 143. Both are tied for 58th.
Jay Moseley of Auburn holds the individual lead at -12.
