Lafayette, La. (SMU) - The SMU men's golf team fired a final round 290 to tie for fourth at 4-under 860 at the 21st-annual Louisiana Classics at the 7,002-yard, par-72 Oakbourne Country Club.

Colt Knost led the Mustang charge, carding a 4-under 72-70-72-212 to finish fifth. Will Dodson was SMU's low man on the final day, shooting 68, to finish in a 10th-place tie at 2-under 214. Scott Sikes, who led SMU on day one, shot a final round 76 to finish at 1-over 217, tying for 22nd. Brandon DeStefano and Wes Homan both shot 76 over the final 18 to finish tied for 45th at 5-over 221.

SMU's Dan Kleckner, playing as an individual in the event, had a strong showing, taking 17th at 1-under 215 following rounds of 73, 69 and 73.

Up next for the Mustangs is the Pinehurst Classic, March 19-21, in Pinehurst, N.C., where SMU will look to defend its title, having won the event in 2005.
