Ft. Worth, Texas - The SMU women's track team sported nearly a full squad while competing in Saturday's TCU Invitational in Ft. Worth, Texas. The Mustangs came away with two second-place finishes in the meet.
In the shot put event, junior Franziska Lakomy placed 13th with a toss of 11.77 meters. Freshman Nicole Anthony posted a season-best mark in the long jump with a leap of 4.96 meters. In the triple jump, freshman Nnenna Ejesieme finished in eighth place with a jump of 11.29 meters. Junior Gaelle Niare placed second in the high jump with a leap of 1.83 meters. Teammate Alesha Stegemoller finished in third place with a mark of 1.70 meters. Freshman Christina Mueller took third place in the discus with a toss of 44.88 meters.
With six SMU representatives in the 1,500-meter run, junior Jessica Jackson led the way with a time of 4:45.56 - good for 11th place. Freshman Sierra Anderson placed 14th with a time of 4:48.83 while freshman Anne Gustafson turned in a season-best time (4:53.57). Junior Rachel Barber ran the event in a mark of 4:54.40 while sophomore Krystal Rodriguez turned in a time of 5:03.25. Freshman Lauren Robertson rounded out the Mustang reps with a season-best time of 5:13.27.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Franziska Lakomy ran the event in a time of 15.47 while teammate Nnenna Ejesieme posted a mark of 15.70. Freshman Nicole Anthony placed 14th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:08.16. Sophomore Ilyssa Pettigrew finished in second place in the 800-meter run with a season-best mark of 2:10.81. In the 400-meter hurdle event, junior Tangela Feemster placed 15th with a season-best mark of 1:08.23. Freshman Jessa Simmons ran the 5,000-meter event in a time of 19:18.32 while Sophomore Magan Moore placed 12th, posting a time of 19:26.34.
