Austin, Texas - The SMU women's track and field team continued competition Friday at the Texas Relays in Austin. Three Mustangs were in action and posted strong numbers in their respective events.
Junior Gaelle Niare placed second in the high jump (section A) with a season-best mark of 1.87 meters. Niare previously qualified for the NCAA regionals last weekend at the Stanford Invitational. Alesha Stegemoller finished in a 12th-place tie in the high jump event (section B) with a season-best leap of 1.70 meters.
In the discus event (section B), freshman Christina Mueller placed ninth with a throw of 44.67 meters.
