DALLAS (SMU) - The third-ranked SMU men's soccer team serves as host to this weekend's SMU Mi Cocina Classic at Westcott Field. Friday's schedule features Tulsa (2-1) vs. Brown (2-0) at 5:00 p.m. followed by #3 SMU (4-0) vs. #10 Indiana (2-1-1) at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Tulsa takes on Indiana at 5:00 p.m. followed by SMU vs. Brown at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for youth. SMU faculty, staff and students are admitted free with the presentation of a current and valid SMU ID. Friday's SMU contest vs. Indiana will be broadcast live (video streaming with play-by-play by Ray Canevari) on Mustang All-Access.

** SMU won its second tournament title of the young season this past weekend.
** Five Mustangs were named to the SMU Radisson Hotel Invitational All-Tournament team. They include Adrian Chevannes (MVP), Matt Wideman, Jay Needham, Ben Shuleva, and Paulo da Silva. Chevannes and Wideman earned Conference USA Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively. In addition, Chevannes was selected to the Soccer America National Team of the Week.
** The last year that SMU won its first four games was in 2001, when SMU went 21-1.
** The most recent time when SMU shut out four consecutive opponents took place in 2004 when the Mustangs strung together four shutout wins during league play as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.
** The last season SMU opened the season with four shutout victories was in 1990 when the Mustangs opened the year with seven straight shutout wins.
** The last game in which SMU scored six (or more goals) was in 2005 as the Mustangs defeated East Carolina, 7-0.
** Freshman Leone Cruz is scheduled to be featured in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" section in the publication's Sept. 18 issue. He earned National Player of the Week honors by Soccer America for his season-opening game winners.
** Phase one of Westcott Field enhancement concluded over the summer with field replacement including a new irrigation system and new playing surface, which was expanded to 75x120. Friday marks the first men's soccer games on the new field.
