DALLAS - Devon Pearson scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds to lead SMU (11-7, 0-4) as the Mustangs fell 72-67 to the UTEP Miners on Saturday night. Stefon Jackson scored 18 points for UTEP.
The Mustangs led until the 4:06 mark of the second half and had a three-point attempt from Donatas Rackauskas with 17 seconds to go that would have tied the game at 70.
