EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Stefon Jackson scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds Wednesday night to help lead Texas-El Paso to an 85-56 victory over SMU.
Jon Killen led SMU (14-13, 3-10) with a career-high 20 points. Ike Ofoegbu scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds. Ofoegbu now has a double-double in four consecutive games and nine on the season. Dez Willingham scored 11 for the Mustangs.
Kevin Henderson added 19 points for UTEP, including 15 off 3-pointers, and Victor Ramalho scored 16 for the Miners (14-13, 6-7 Conference USA).
The Mustangs were playing their second consecutive game with seven scholarship players due to injuries to Devon Pearson (knee) and Bamba Fall (finger). Ofoegbu, Willingham, and Killn all played 40 minutes in the game.
UTEP scored 22 points off 17 turnovers and outrebounded the Mustangs 39-22.
The Miners led 50-32 at halftime.
UTEP shot 53 percent from the field to 37 percent for SMU.
The Mustangs play at Rice on Saturday before closing Conference USA play with home games against Tulsa on Feb. 28, and seventh-ranked Memphis on March. 3.
