Knost Takes Third At Maxwell

ARDMORE, Okla. (SMU) - A day after carding a course-record 61, Colt Knost shot 71 the par-70, 6,453-yard Dornick Hills Country Club to finish third at the 16th-annual Maxwell at 14-under par 196 for 54 holes. As a team, SMU took third at 43-under.
Oklahoma State won the team event and Nick Geyger of Tulsa won individual medalist honors at 15-under.
SMU's Scott Barton also claimed a top-10 finish, tying for seventh after shooting 64-71-69-204 to finish at 6-under, while Ben Tewes tied for 25th at 2-over 69-68-75-212. James Minahan (73-68-73-212-T25), Scott Sikes (72-72--70-244-T30), Draegen Majors (72-70-74-216-T38), Frank Wrenn (70-71-78-219-T46) and Brandon DeStefano (76-73-71-220-T51) rounded out the SMU group.
The 54-hole event featured a field of 10 teams that includes Big Ten champion Michigan State, Big 12 champ Oklahoma State, Conference USA title holder Tulsa and Oklahoma City, the NAIA Region VII champion.
