CHICAGO (SMU)--The No. 47 SMU men's tennis team swept the Illinois-Chicago Flames Friday night, 7-0. The Mustangs' record improves to 5-1, while the Flames drop to 1-5.

In doubles, the Mustangs battled through tight matches, but managed to take the point after winning all three matches. Alex Skrypko and Robin Fahgen paired at No. 1 to defeat Sebastian Lystad and Bastian Harbo, 8-7. In the two-slot, Oivind Alver paired with Chris Hooshyar to beat Adriano Liccardo and Eric Fey, 8-3, while at No. 3 Darren Walsh and Taylor St. Eve defeated Danny Wilson and Sean Kreymborg, 8-5.

The Mustangs were dominant in singles play throughout the lineup. Fahgen was back at No. 1 and easily handled Lystad, 6-1, 6-3, continuing his undefeated season. Skrypko picked up a win at No. 2, defeating Harbo in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Alver played at No. 3 for the first time this season and beat Liccardo, 6-3, 6-3. Adolfo Solares notched a win at No. 4 to continue his unbeaten streak, taking the match over Fey, 6-4, 6-1. Hooshyar continued the momentum for the Mustangs at No. 5, coasting to a win over Wilson, 6-2, 6-2. St. Eve wrapped it up for SMU, picking up a win over O'Brien, 6-4, 6-2.
