DALLAS (SMU)-No. 43 SMU men's tennis (0-2) lost their second match of the season to a dominant DePaul (5-0) team by a score of 5-2 on Sunday, January 25 at Turpin Tennis Stadium. Despite the loss, junior Robin Fahgen (2-0) continued his winning ways in singles action.
Fahgen narrowly defeated DePaul's number one, Austin Doerner in straight sets (7-6, 6-5), while No. 116 sophomore Artem Baradach earned the win over Alasdair Graetz (6-4, 6-2) to record the only wins for the Mustangs.
The Blue Demons swept the Mustangs in doubles play, though a team of Baradach and sophomore David Costa made a good effort to rout the sweep before falling 8-7.
The Mustangs will return to action in the National Indoors tournament on Friday, and will continue play into Saturday at UCLA in Los Angeles, California.
